Scott Minami, President

 

Scott Minami is currently the President of MLM Group, Inc. a full service real estate firm.  Currently,  he is performing a land acquisition search for a homebuilder client.  In the past, I have sold and acquired properties for various clients within the Home Building Industry. Past clients include Shea Homes, Meritage Homes and others.

 

Given Mr. Minami’s diverse experience in development, land acquisition and disposition, and acquiring and selling of individual distressed properties, he has many contacts throughout this industry. 

 

Mr. Minami formed M.L. Minami, Inc. in 2000 to be a land development company to acquire a property site with a moving landslide in the City of Orange with existing homes and in litigation.  M.L. Minami, Inc. was instrumental to resolving the litigation on the properties and repaired the landslide.  Today the property has 18 homes on the site.

 

Since that time M.L. Minami, Inc has purchased and sold 2 tracts in the City of Rancho Cucamonga.  This community consisted of two tracts of 21 and 23 half acre lots. Mr. Minami directed final engineering of the project and resolved right of way issues with adjacent property owners which included MWD.  This community was financed by New Frontier Capital and sold in January 2004.

 

In addition, M.L. Minami, Inc. was involved in a purchase of a 48 unit condominium conversion and remodel in Sherman Oaks.  The final unit was sold in November 2007.

 

Since 2010, Mr. Minami has worked with investors to purchase, repair and remodel, maintain and resell homes.  He has been involved with over 80 homes since the beginning of 2010.  He has experience with acquisitions of REO assets, short sales and standard sales.

 

Previous to being President of M.L. Minami, Inc., Mr. Minami worked for Kaufman & Broad for 8 years and Presley Homes for 4 years acquiring land, performing due diligence and project management which included obtaining entitlements for various communities including an Anaheim Redevelopment project called Heritage Place located off of Lincoln Avenue and May Ranch Specific Plan in the City of Perris. Mr. Minami was also involved in setting up Mello Roos financing and development agreements. During his tenure with the public companies, Mr. Minami was involved with the development of over 3,300 homes in southern California. 

 

Mr. Minami is a licensed Real Estate Broker.  Mr. Minami earned a Masters of Business Administration from UC Irvine’s Graduate School of Management and a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from UC Irvine’s School of Engineering.
